Left ventricular thrombus formation is common in acute anterior wall myocardial infarction. It imposes a significant risk of systemic embolization resulting in various degree of morbidity and mortality. Echocardiogram is a useful investigation to detect their occurrence and anticoagulation is the mainstay of treatment.
